Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to our most asked questions are listed below. If you cannot find your answer please reach out to Mina Verde staff and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

What are the various travel options to get to Mina Verde?

You will want to fly into San Jose, the main airport in Costa Rica (SJO), then catch a shuttle, taxi, or small plane to Quepos. The planes can sometimes be flakey, (i.e. cancel flights when not enough flyers), so be aware if you want to go in that direction. We can also help secure accommodations if needed.

Can pictures be taken and used as promotion on the site?

How does payment work? Is there a down payment?

Yes, there will be 25% down at the time of booking, and the remaining payment processed at commencement of the stay.

What is the process of booking a retreat?

There is a questionnaire that you can access in the Book Now section of the website. Once you complete it, follow the prompts to begin the booking process.

Are there other activities that can be booked through the retreat?

Yes, we have many activities that you can book during your stay and staff will be able to set up the travel arrangements to make it to the activity destination.

Is the water potable?

Yes, water is safe to drink on Mina Verde. Costa Rica is one of the only Latin American countries where water is drinkable.

What are the sizes of the beds?

Is alcohol and smoking permitted?

Yes, but smoking must be done outdoors.

What is the weather like?

You can expect pleasant weather throughout the year. There are two seasons: the dry season (Dec ~ April) and the rainy season (May ~ Nov). It’s commonly thought that the rainy season is to be avoided. But it can actually be quite nice because the temperatures are a bit cooler and it often rains only in the evening or at night so you can still enjoy sunny days on the beach and pursuing other outdoor activities.

Are pets allowed?

Well behaved/trained pets are always welcome!

Do you offer laundry services?

We have a washing machine and dryer on site for DIY laundry.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, Wi-fi is available.

Do we need to rent a car?

You can leave all transportation needs up to us. We have the resources to get you to the retreat and the beach. We can also help you arrange transport facilities for an easier commute to nearby places. Alternatively, you can rent a car in order to drive to Mina Verde itself and to points of interest you’d like to visit. There is very little in the way of public transportation.

How far is Mina Verde from the beach?

From the top of the mountain, you can reach the beach by vehicle in 5 minutes.

What are the various accommodations?

We have cabinas, a house, 2 kitchens, multiple decks, a fire pit, a waterfall with a swimming hole, and beautiful views of nature, the Pacific Ocean, and the sunset in every spot except the waterfall, which is tucked away into the jungle.
